8-28-16 ~ It's Time for the Barn Collective ~ How Strong Are You?

I created this collage using pictures from Mischief Circus's Funny Farm Collection,
but I could not find a name for the quote at the top. I was thinking of my dear friend,Rose, from Pics and Piecing and the condition of her husband. They both need all the strength they can muster plus all of our thoughts and prayers. For those of you who did not know about Roger, please click on the link above. She is posting updates on her blogs and has been a faithful participant in The Barn Collective.

Guess it knows how strong it needs to be, because it is still standing.

Please stop by Tom's Barn Collective to see more interesting barns from this week.

8-26-16 ~ Some Photography and My Weekly Art Posts

I am linking this shot taken today with Skywatch Friday.
The rains are coming tomorrow.
You all are continually reading my posts from where we live in Kerrs Creek.
So, I just had to let see that we even rate an Interstate sign
directing you to our neck of the woods.

Unfortunately, our man that cuts our lower 3 acres grass has been out of town for several weeks, so the grass was very, very high when he got here yesterday. This morning I went out barefooted to take some photos while the early morning shadows were so pretty, and I found myself in a not so good situation for someone with a horrible allergy to grasses. Well, I got the pictures but payed a high price sneezing, itching, and weezing all day long.I am linking this picture of my 77 year old ugly feet in the freshly cut grass with:

This is the old Model T shed here at the farm.
This morning the shadows were just beautiful.
I am linking it with Shadow Shot Sunday 2.

My Etegami for the Week
Fall Is on Its Way

This is a picture I painted for Rose Swalls from Pics and Piecing. The two of us have become very dear friends and correspond daily. She has put up two posts about how Roger is doing, and it is such a heart breaker. There now appears to be more damage than they thought at first. But he is trying, and he is making progress. Please remember her and her beloved Roger, Sarah and Rachel their daughters, and their precious granddaughter, Lorelei, in your thoughts and prayers.

Day 10 ~ Clarity

The idea of the 'Woof Woof' correctly spelled words is not my own. I found them while doing a search of eye chart images on the internet, but it was my idea to use the red glasses (from Mischief Circus) and the misspelling of the words for the left eye. I was thinking about going to the eye doctor and not being able to see worth a hoot in that eye. My life needs 'clarity' all throughout it...not just with my eyes.

My Doodling Journal

I press every flower petal I can find in a very large and old wine book
about the wines of the world. It is heavy and really does the job well.

Sorry about the dark spots. This is in my Doddle Journal on the tan paper.
I have not figured out the correct way to take pictures of the pages, yet.
We think the top leaf is from an elm from all the trees at back of house.
Bud and I think the second one comes  from one of our maple trees.
The dark spots looking greenish/blue spots and are here and there all over the leaf.
As you can seem it also has a hole in it.

This is the first time I have ever tried to sketch  mandala freehand
so please excuse the wavy lines. It was the best I could do.

8-18-16 ~ The Hay Has Been Baled

Being from the ocean and Florida, seeing the field with the hay rolled into bales is a site I adore. The funnest one is getting behind the SLOW moving truck taking the bales to the right fields where they are needed. These fields are on the road to my home.

8-15-16 ~ It's Sunday and Time for Another Rockbridge County Barn

Come and Join Us over at Tom's Barn Collective.

This is a working farm not far from us which has been here for years and years.
Nothing has changed.
I am assuming it is still in the same family.

8-12-16 ~ My Week in Art ~ Day 1 and Day 2 ~ Genie Robinson

My Etegami This Week

My Stippling This Week

First I sketched from a photo I had taken a picture of North Mountain popping up its head threw a bobbed wire stretched fencing and power lines. I do not like in general the way it turns out, but I love my fencing. That top piece was really curved and way up above the rest. Maybe a larger animal stretched it trying to jump to freedom.

 Just for Fun

Oh, how i miss my quilting, but my sitting with my back does not allow it.
Last week I saw where one of our bloggers (I cannot remember who...I'betting old) but it immediately reminded me of just how addicted I am to Hershey bars...DAY and NIGHT ( I always eat one before I go to bed) ...and MIDDLE OF NIGHT. I know they are bad for me especially at night considering the sugar on my teeth,  my digestion cycle , and sleep, but I still wake up and head for the fridge (they get soft here from the hot weather) tiptoeing TRYING to be quiet so Buddy does not hear me...hehehe.  That is so silly. He always hears me and knows what I am up to :=-)

 Doodling
One night I was thinking about my quilt and the beautiful vintage silk one my DIL gave to me, I decided to try creating a Doodle Quilt. This was so much fun.

While walking I saw many, many Passion Flowers on the trail. They are very prolific at this time of year. I had never seen them before so I took some pictures and then came home and had a bit of doodling fun with it. The most fun was adding color though the petals on Passion Flowers here is usually blue or lavender.

Last but not least, I have joined a group called 365 Days of Spirit Art sponsored by Nancy Baumiller.
This group is not for experienced artists in all sorts of medium, a beginner is welcomed. You can join in at any time. Nancy has created a Face Book page for all of our contributions:
Art2Hearts. I have only made Pages 1and 2, but it is a start.

8-10-16 ~ Happy Finches

It Is Wild Bird Wednesday Again

This little finch makes me think of a penguin.
That is quite the split it is doing!

It is such fun to be a little finch when Mom feeds us in our play yard.
